Fraud Prevention
99% of all the orders placed over the internet are legitimate orders and do not require any additional follow up information to be provided from the customer. Unfortunately there are always the few bad people that make it difficult for the rest of us. Therefore due to this unfortunate reality we are being forced to take additional steps to verify the legitimacy of orders that exceed certain $ amounts, or orders which meet certain risk criteria. Historically online credit card orders were always verified by matching the credit card owners information to their billing address. This is done by using the National AVS (address verification system) which is supported by all of the major credit card companies. For example if a customer’s credit card was stolen, the person using the card fraudulently would not have the ordered products shipped to the customers credit card billing address. Up until the past 5 years online merchants would not process credit card orders online unless the order was shipped to the billing address. However within the past several years in which online transactions have grown exponentially, having orders shipped to an alternate address versus the billing address has become the norm and therefore created a new problem which is proving difficult to deal with.
Any of the following instances will trigger a flag in our system which then requires the customer to provide additional information before their order ships;
- When the shipping and billing addresses do not match AND the order is over a specified $ amount.
- The order is paid using PayPal but the PayPal account is unregistered AND the order is over a specified $ amount.
- The order is paid using PayPal but the PayPal registered email address does not match the email address used when creating the order.
- When the order is placed from a country different than the registered address for shipping or billing.
If your order triggers any or all of these flags you may be required to submit further identification information to help us verify the order before it will be shipped. Payment for any order exceeding $500 can alternatively be completed by either direct wire transfer or cashier’s check and then no additional information will be required.
- In the case of all orders $1500 or greater AND paid using a credit card the customer will be overnight mailed a shipping authorization code. This shipping authorization code will be mailed to the verified billing address for the credit card that was used to generate the order. This shipping code must be provided back to Performance Product Technologies before your order will be shipped.
- In the case of all orders $5000 or greater AND paid using a credit card the customer will be mailed the shipping authorization code as outlined above AND also emailed a Purchase Sales Agreement (PSA) which needs to be signed and returned as specified along with proof of identity before the order will be processed.
**Please be aware that it is our utmost concern to protect you and your personal information and NOT create additional work for either of us. On more than one occasion the additional fraud prevention steps we require are what alerted a customer that their information had been compromised and was now being used without their consent. The small amount of additional hassle on the front end can save a considerable amount of pain down the road. We can confidently state that our customers always appreciate this additional effort we put towards keeping them and their personal information as safe as possible.**

To the extent that Goods are warranted by their original manufacturers, and to the extent that such warranties are assignable to Buyer, Seller assigns to Buyer any rights and remedies it has relating to such Goods. Buyer agrees to review the manufacturer’s installation guidelines and instructions as well as policies regarding installation of unauthorized equipment. It is understood that any violation of these policies and procedures voids any applicable warranty. SELLER WARRANTS GOODS PURSUANT TO THE WARRANTY POLICY STATEMENTS ISSUED FROM TIME TO TIME BY MANUFACTURER. EXCEPT AS SET FORTH IN THE APPLICABLE WARRANTY POLICY STATEMENT, SELLER MAKES NO WARRANTY, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, WITH RESPECT TO GOODS, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE REGARDING THE ADMINISTRATION OF MANUFACTURER’S SAID WARRANTY OR PRODUCT RETURN.
**NOTE: In the case of serialized product orders such as ENGINES, LONGBLOCKS, and STERNDRIVE orders the customer will be emailed a Purchase Sales Agreement (PSA) within 24 hours upon completing the order. This PSA will need to be signed and returned before the order will be shipped. The purpose of the PSA is to ensure that the customer completing the order is in fact the customer that is eligible for any and all available warranty offered by the product manufacturer. Please be aware that without a signed PSA on file PPT will not be responsible to assist customers with any available warranty issues.

Performance Product Technologies shipping option designated as “STANDARD GROUND” on items below 150 Lbs will be shipped using the carrier of PPT’s choice; UPS standard ground, Fed Ex Ground or USPS. If you want to request a specific carrier this must be designated in the “ORDER NOTE” field at the time the order is placed. Any additional shipping costs will be communicated to the customer before the order is processed. The shipping designation “EXPEDITED” on items below 150 Lbs will be shipped using 3 day service with the carrier of PPT’s choice; UPS, Fed Ex or USPS. NOTE: ORDERS COMMONLY REQUIRE SHIPPING TO PPT BEFORE SHIPPING BACK OUT TO THE CUSTOMER. IN THESE CASES THE EXPEDITED SHIPPING SERVICE ONLY APPLIES TO THE SHIPMENT FROM PPT TO THE CUSTOMER. MAKE SURE TO READ THE NOTES ON ALL PRODUCTS WHEN THEY ARE LOADED INTO THE SHOPPING CART REGARDING WHETHER THIS APPLIES. All orders are shipped without a signature required at delivery, unless the customer requests the delivery signature on the provided “ORDER NOTE” field when the order is placed. Perfprotech.com assumes no liability for lost or stolen packages that deliver to the address specified on the order when proof of delivery is provided. Therefore if your delivery address is in a location that this is a concern – MAKE SURE TO REQUEST A DELIVERY SIGNATURE TO BE REQUIRED WHEN YOUR ORDER IS DELIVERED.
NOTE: In certain cases order shipments will require additional shipping charges. Many times this happens when we have determined that certain products receive shipping damage more frequently if shipped with the standard service. In these cases the additional shipping charges may not be known at the time the order is placed rather once the shipping is being established. At this time PPT will communicate with the customer and give them the option to accept additional shipping charges and proceed with the order or cancel the order for a full refund. We understand the inconvenience this causes in certain situations and work hard to offer the lowest possible shipping option to alleviate this issue.

It is the customers sole responsibility to inspect and report any damage to the delivery driver immediately upon arrival. The person signing for the receipt of the shipment takes full responsibility as to the shipping condition of the product being delivered. Please be aware that this does not mean that the customer is responsible for accepting a damaged product being shipped, rather that the customer has observed and inspected the product being delivered and whether it is in good condition. Performance Product Technologies will not under any circumstances be responsible for damage incurred during transit.
The standard shipping charges displayed on the website when processing orders through the online store are based on shipping within the continental United States. Shipments on products in excess of 150 Lbs going to to Alaska and Hawaii may subject to additional shipping charges which must be completed and paid before product is shipped. Customer will be notified before the order ships in these cases.
International Orders for products in excess of 150 Lbs will incur additional shipping and/or handling charges. The customer will be informed of these associated costs before the order is shipped. Customers are responsible for all duties and related charges once the product has reached the customs entry point.
Oklahoma residents are charged an 8.75% sales tax. Residents of all other states are individually responsible for and recommended to remit their states applicable taxes as required. Residents of countries other than the United States are individually responsible for any brokerage fee’s, and/or V.A.T. for their respective country.

- Do you ship internationally? Yes
- How can I get a shipping estimate? Simply add your desired product to the shopping cart and then use the shipping estimator located at the bottom of the shopping cart.
- Why is the Shipping Cost so High for a “Small Light-Weight Part? Many manufacturers have fixed minimum order requirements which applies a $10 fee to the shipping cost for orders totaling less than $100. We can normally work around this by combining multiple orders for separate customers. Therefore, if you are seeing what appears to be an outrageous shipping cost please call or emails us [email protected] and so we can help work around this for you.
- How are engines and other motor freight handled? UPS motor freight is used for domestic LTL Motor Freight shipments on engines and other large items.
- Can I ship to a PO box? Yes
- Can I ship to an address separate from the billing address? Yes
Domestic Shipping Options
- What are the Domestic shipping options? We ship domestic parcel packages (less than 150 Lbs) using the available UPS service’s. We ship UPS motor freight for LTL Motor Freight shipments on engines and large items weighing in excess of 150 Lbs.
- What states/countries count as domestic shipping? The lower 48 Continental United States along with Alaska & Hawaii.
- How much does it cost? Shipping rates are normally based on package weight and/or size for abnormally large packages.
- How can I get a shipping estimate? Simply add your desired product to the shopping cart and then use the shipping estimator located at the bottom of the shopping cart.
- How long will it take to get there? Shipping times depend on the postal code being shipped to. Typical times for UPS shipping range from 5 – 7 days for ground and then expedited as selected. Note: Products noted in the shopping cart as “Multi Ship” are being indicated as special order. Therefore, it is not uncommon that these products require additional shipping time. Please call for more information on these products as flagged during the checkout process.
- Is expedited shipping available? Yes expedited shipping is available for the Lower 48 Continental United States. Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico require an additional 2-3 days above the normal selected expedited service rate.
- How is it packaged? Packaging varies from boxed small parts to crated engines.
- How can I track my order? You will receive an email including your tracking number. Please be aware that orders containing more than one product are very often shipped in multiple shipments from different warehouses. Therefore if you only receive a portion of the order, please be aware that the remaining parts are likely still in transit.
- How are freight and oversized packages handled? For shipments requiring additional shipping charges outside the normal rates, the customer will be notified before the order is completed and processed.
International Shipping Options
- What are the International shipping options? We ship parcel packages (less than 150 Lbs) using UPS services, or we can ship USPS on International parcel packages weighing less than 70 Lbs. Both air and ocean freight shipments are required for large products (engines, sterndrives, and all other items weighing in excess of 150 Lbs.
- Can all products listed on the website be shipped internationally? No. Certain manufacturers restrict the sale/shipment of certain products. If you place an order for any of these restricted items you will be contacted within 24 hours to refund the order. Please call for more information (405) 533-3812
- What states/countries count as international shipping? Anything outside the continental United States.

- How can I track my order? For UPS, USPS and DHL shipments you will receive an email including your tracking number. Please be aware that orders containing more than one product are very often shipped in multiple shipments from different warehouses. - How are freight and over-sized packages handled? For shipments requiring additional shipping charges outside the normal rates, the customer will be notified before the order is completed and processed.
Core & Container Deposits
- Core Charges: Core charges are commonly applied to remanufactured products when the availability of usable core products is low. In these cases the core charge is applied as a deposit at the time of the order and will be refunded partially or in whole if and when a good core is returned to the manufacturer. Engines returned with a cracked block can be beneficial as the manufacturer will normally assign some pro-rated value to any usable internal components, heads, etc that are returned. Please be aware that when returning the old engine to the manufacturer the return instructions supplied to the customer when their order is delivered, AND the cost of return shipping will be paid by the manufacturer.
- Container Deposit: This deposit is applied when the manufacturer has chosen to ship the product in a returnable container. The primary reason for using a returnable container is to prevent shipping damage. In these cases when returning the container, the pick up and return cost will be covered by the manufacturer. The container return instructions will be provided at the time when the original order delivers.

Product Return Policy
No returns on special orders – MOST other items may be returned within 30 days, ONLY if it is accompanied by a pre-authorized PPT authorization number. To obtain a PPT Return Authorization number, either send a request including your name, product purchased, date of purchase, and reason that the product is being returned, to [email protected], or call (405) 533-3812. DO NOT WRITE ON THE BOX!!!! If the original packaging is damaged or written on the returned item will not be accepted. Attach a description and/or paperwork to the part that clearly describes why it is being returned; ex: “Incorrect part, Customer didn’t want”, “Return”, “Defective”, “Broken”, etc…
NOTE: No returns will be accepted if not accompanied by a PPT issued authorization number.
All returns and/or orders that are cancelled after shipment from PPT or the manufacturer has been initiated are subject to a 20% re-stocking fee to cover the costs of handling and restocking the item. Any additional shipping charges and/or expedited shipping charges are non-refundable. The customer is responsible for shipping the returned item back to PPT. Any item returned in a damaged condition, used/non-sell-able condition, or if the original packaging is written on or in a damaged condition the return will be refused. Any item returned without an authorization number will also be refused. In these cases the customer will be responsible for the cost of shipping the item back to them.
Absolutely NO RETURNS on electrical parts, internal engine parts or carburetors or any product beyond the 30 day date of the invoice. These parts are non-returnable under any circumstances.

If you have not ordered with PPT before, you should click on New Account. If you process your order using the guest checkout you may not be able to track your orders progress on the website.
How to place an online order
Step 1: Add selected products to your shopping cart
Step 2: Select update shopping cart and verify that your cart is correct.
Step 3: Select check out
Step 4: Create a user account by entering your email address and a user defined password
Step 5: Select your state
Step 6: Enter your customer information, name, address, etc.
Step 7: Select payment option.
If the online credit card payment option is selected you will then be prompted to enter your credit card information via an encrypted secured socket layer connection. This SSL reduces the risk of credit card fraud by securing and protecting your connection to the secured www.authorize.net system. At this point select the “submit button” when prompted at which point your order will be submitted for processing. You will then receive a payment confirmation email indicating your payment was processed successfully. Performance Product Technologies utilizes the latest completely secure online ordering encryption technology. Although many people don’t realize the technology behind placing an online order, it is actually one of the safest methods of ordering available. Why? Secure ordering technology uses a separates the server which encrypts the credit card information entered while placing the order. This means that not even the merchant has the option of viewing the customers credit card information. Versus when you place a credit card order in person, the merchant could actually make a copy of the credit card receipt and have full access to your personal information, and credit card account. When you hear of a companies computer system being compromised and customers personal information to be accessed, this indicates that company did not use the Secure System providers SSL system rather they retained their customers personal information. You can take comfort in the fact that PPT does NOT do this.
Fill out the required information while writing down the Login name and Password that you selected during this process. Save this user name and password to use for future purchases. If you cannot remember your password, send an email to [email protected] and we will e-mail your password and profile information to you, or you can generate a new password through the website.
If you have already established a user profile, just type in your Login name and Password. A screen will appear which will list your billing address and shipping address. Please verify your personal account information for accuracy and changes.
PLEASE NOTE: As required to process an order on this website, agreeing to the Company Terms and Policies and then selecting the “Submit Order” button constitutes full completion of all orders on this website. All remedies and policies thereafter are in full effect once the order has been submitted.

PLEASE NOTE: Regarding cancelled orders. All orders are subject to the return policies once the order is processed. Therefore, if an order is placed and then it is cancelled before it ships from PPT to the customer as in the case with Multi-Ship orders, it will still be subject to the normal 20% restock fee. The reason for this is not that shipping charges have been incurred, rather manufacturers have re-stock policies. Since the order has been processed and is shipping from that location the 20% restock will still be enforced to PPT and therefore passed along to the customer.

Buyer agrees that any sale will be deemed to be made and performed solely in Payne County, Oklahoma to the exclusion of all other jurisdictions.
