Engine - Marine Power 3.0L Bobtail Sterndrive Engine, Carb, (#E181S)

The Marine Power 3.0L model is the same base GM 3.0L engine model used by Mercruiser, Volvo Penta and made to be a direct replacement for the Mercruiser model however there are a few details that customers have to deal with when repowering.

1.       You will have to carry over and re-use the engine mounts from your existing engine. The engine mounts that Mercruiser uses are specific to them.

2.       You will have to reuse your existing sterndrive shift bracketry from the existing engine. Since this hardware is specific to Mercruiser you will have to re-use that existing hardware.

3.       You will have to re-use your existing power steering pump and bracket. Mercruiser is the only manufacturer that offers P.S. on the 3.0L engine.

4.       You will have to re-use your existing flywheel housing. This housing is specific to matching up to the Mercruiser Alpha sterndrive. The flywheel and coupler are matched as the same 14” variety however the flywheel housing itself is specific to Mercruiser and therefore must be re-used.
