Mercruiser Seawater Pump Replacement Options
Dave,
Thanks for your inquiry regarding Mercruiser Parts and the opportunity at earning your Marine Parts business. Although this raw water pump will work just fine for that application it isn’t commonly used for that purpose. Probably the reason for this being that removing the other raw water pump affects belt routing, etc. Regarding servicing the raw water pump you are definitely correct that the crank driven pumps are typically more accessible and easier to service. The link below shows the more common option for replacing the common Mercruiser seawater pump with a more robust design option. Using the link below you can add your selected product(s) to your shopping cart and the shipping estimator located at the bottom of the shopping cart page will give you a shipping cost based on your specific postal code. Let me know if you need any further technical information or help placing your order. In either case I will be glad to assist!

Body: I have 2 1990 Mercruiser 7.4liter's in a searay 310. I saw this crank driven pump and wondered if this is a direct upgrade for the plastic mercruiser pump mounted under the right exhaust manifold. Looks liek this is a much easier pump to service.
