Mercruiser 1991 5.0LX Repower

Zoran,

Actually you have the flat tappet 5.0LX motors Not the 5.7LX. Therefore the correct engines for you would be the GM305LC Open the link below for more engine related details.

Hi Andy, thank you for replying.
The boat is Bayliner 3050 Avanti, 1991, has two engines.
I have read the serial number from the top cover on the flame arrestor, the engines are still on my boat and it is difficult or impossible to squeeze and read the code at the back of the engine. This is what I see:

Have found your site by Goggle search, searched for “mercruiser engine” Your web site is great, nice details and photos very informative, particularly like the shipping calculator and the ocean freight option.
I hope that you can help me to select good option to repower my boat.
Thanks
Zoran

Zoran,

Thanks for your inquiry and the opportunity at earning your business. Were you able to verify the engine casting block code on your engine (See link below)? Also please let me know your exact shipping location. Let me know if you need any further technical information or help placing your order. In either case I will be glad to assist!

Zoran writes:
Hi, I want to repower my boat which has 2 Mercruiser engines Model MCM 5.0 Litre/LX, Displacement 305CID, Engine rotation LH, Serial Number ODxxxxxx I was thinking to select GM350LC remanufactured engines, but I’m not sure if I’m correct. Can you please advice what would be my best option, I want to transfer the existing parts from the old engines to the new blocks. Second question would be the shipping cost to New Zealand, Auckland. Is the estimate on your web site correct, I’m getting $475 Thanks Zoran
