This is a direct replacement part. Fits MerCruiser Aluminum block 4 Cyl 224 CID Sterndrive Models 470, 488, 165/3.7L,170, 180/3.7LX, 185, 190. 4 inch tank diameter, 27 inches overall length. See detail diagram for dimensions. Note: This 4" heat exchanger has the same the raw water inlet fitting (5/8", straight) as the 3" HX for ease of conversion from 3" to 4". Kit includes all components necessary to convert from a 3" to 4" heat exchanger(heat exchanger, U-bolt, rubber pad, mounting hardware)
