420 HP @ 5000 RPM / 505 LB-FT @ 4000 RPM. Replaces 2000-Current H.O. 496 C.I.D. (8.1L) engines from all Marine Engine Manufacturers (MerCruiser, SeaMaxx, Crusader, Volvo). Comes complete with PFI Intake and Plenum, Fuel Rail with Injectors, Flywheel, Water Pump, marine Dampner, Ignition Coils, Crank Sensor, Cam Sensor and Platinum tipped Spark Plugs. 2004 and older engines may be required to re-use some of their accessories.
NOTE: GM has changed the harness connector for the cam sensor several times since 2001. In 2001 it was the initial designed they introduced the motor with, then the design changed between 2002 and 2003. Ultimately now after 2004 the plug changed again and is the same connector as what is used for the crank sensor located at the rear of the motor. The cam sensor is located on the front of the engine on the timing cover, mid-way down on the port side. If you have the older style plug you will have to purchase the new connector and splice it into your existing wiring harness. (See a picture of the different plugs)
