**This engine can be used on carbureted or EFI applications but the carbureted engines have be equipped with an electric choke carburetor.**

**This engine can be used on applications ranging from 1987 thru 1995 as well, but an additional distributor gear must be purchased since these are the Gen VI "Roller" longblocks (ie - roller valvetrain & camshaft/oil pump drive)

NOTE: When replacing pre-1997 and/or carbureted engines with this Gen VI longblock, it is required to order a crankshaft sensor. Although the actual sensor function is not being used, this sensor has a special O-Ring and is used to seal the hole in the front cover.

 

This block is intended for all GM Big Block V8 applications including Mercruiser, Volvo Penta, and Crusader, etc. There are various changes that were made on the 7.4L/8.2L engine throughout the years. This NEW G.M. service longblock is the replacement engine for 330 Hp 1998 - 2001 models with the single piece main seal and oval port heads. The 330 Hp rating was an advertised number not the actual produced power number. Engine comes complete with cast aluminum valve covers, an 8 quart oil pan, composite timing cover, and harmonic balancer. However it does not include the intake manifold, water pump, or flywheel.

 

Note: There is no provision for mechanical fuel pump, electric fuel pump must be used
