Beginning January 1, 2010 most Sterndrive/Inboard boats (both new boats and repowers) will require engines equipped with emission control, except new 4.3L & 8.1L engines that are being discontinued by General Motors, and 500+ Hp Racing engines. Therefore there are several different options available. - Repower with a new NON-ETC Catalyst Equipped Engine (Guidelines differ between manufacturers).
- Repower with a new ETC Catalyst Equipped EFI Engine (Guidelines differ between manufacturers).
- Repower with a remanufactured Carbureted or EFI Engine.
